The Suns are still working to try to secure a second pick in the first round of the draft, but they won’t go beyond the 22nd or 23rd pick because the talent level drops off from that point. Calls to Cleveland and Washington haven’t gotten it done.
If that doesn’t work out, they might look at the first five picks of the second round in the hopes that one of the players they like will drop that far. Portland (two picks) and Seattle, who have done business with the Suns in the past, have a pick early in the second round as do the L.A. Clippers and Milwaukee. But that deal might have some contingencies, dependent on whether the player the Suns want is still on the board.
